Penny & Miso 9.2.25 Litter - Australian Labradoodle Puppies Available
Penny & Miso 9.2.25 Halloween Litter - Week 7
The puppies enjoyed visitation week showing a great love for all people. Outside potty through a doggy door replaced the litter trays in record time. The seven remain with the title of “easiest litter” due to their sweet temperaments, ease of training, quiet play, and group cuddles. Penny and Miso definitely passed along their best attributes to these babies. Our Addams-Munster group tried on their Halloween costumes early for your enjoyment. Australian Labradoodle puppies truly are priceless;)
Penny & Miso 9.2.25 Halloween Litter - Week 6
With puppies getting bigger and Mom not excited about their sharp teeth erupting in full force, Penny prefers to stand while nursing. It provides the extra room and a quick getaway when needed;) Moving to the outdoor play space was a big hit this week. The new toys and textures under tiny paws brought the cutest reactions. This is also where outdoor potty and bedtime crate training begins for the little pumpkins. Snuggle buggle time! If you don’t know what that means, check out our pinned training reel on Instagram. Can you tell which puppy is the comedian of the bunch?
Penny & Miso 9.2.25 Halloween Litter - Week 5
Teeth and teething were definitely a focus this week. Porridge swiftly changed from liquid to thicker mush in response. Typically, messy porridge pictures are for display. However, these seven were way too focused on getting every drop and morsel to waste anything on messy faces and paws. (Thank you, pups!) Penny’s appreciative of our help in filling the bellies of these healthy eaters too. The “mastering” of litter trays has been an additional focus before moving to the outdoors - which they will love! They’re a smart, affectionate bunch.
Penny & Miso 9.2.25 Halloween Litter - Week 4
It was an extra special week with our Lake Stevens, WA, family visiting for birthday fun and Australian Labradoodle puppy cuddles. ALL of the babies got spoiled with attention. Although our own children at Ever After are growing up, the next generation is happily stepping in to join in the fun. Being around people of various ages during the puppy development stages is so important. Also, Penny’s babies started litterbox training this week since their walking has progressed to quicker toddles, skips, and hops. In addition, toys are starting to be a fun thing to shake; but toothless gnawing on their siblings is even more entertaining. They remain a pretty mellow group even with playful personalities beginning to show themselves.
Penny & Miso 9.2.25 Halloween Litter - Week 3
How would you caption these pictures? Honestly, thank you to the seven for staying awake long enough to capture their sweet faces with eyes open. It is not easy for them at this age. Notice that their little noses are almost completely filled-in now. With all having black noses, we can officially call their colors “apricots” with white (not caramels which would come with liver-colored noses). Although their squeaky voices with tiny growls are being heard more, they are still a quiet bunch. Since walking is getting easier for the tykes, Ever After will incorporate litter tray tops in the sleeping area now. Music in the nursery changed from classical to Disney to keep from being too quiet. The pups need to be ready for adoptions into noisy, active households. Lastly, a shout out to Mr. Ever After for helping with the photo session. I knew the gloves would fit(-ish), ha!
Penny & Miso 9.2.25 Halloween Litter - Week 2
If you’ve read Past Litter posts, week two always highlights the eye openings. It’s something we can’t wait for - who will be the first - how many days before all are open?? It’s an exciting milestone. However, eyes open does not mean the pups can see well yet. Their sight will continue to develop over the upcoming weeks. Equally as exciting, puppies are now doing a hybrid dance of scooting combined with wobbly legs. No playing yet - it’s still a time of nursing, stretching, and sleeping. From the pictures, you can see that positions at the milk bar and napping piles do not take into account size of puppies. It’s “one for all and all for one!” Typically, puppy piles seem to be for security and keeping warm. This litter prefers a pile over the warmed area of the whelping box - so sweet. During social time, we love to hold the puppies under our chins while we hum the classical music melodies playing in their nursery. They are incredibly YUMMY! The color changes you see in their bunny soft coats is due to different lighting in the room.
Penny & Miso 9.2.25 Halloween Litter - Week 1
Here we have the first portraits of our apricot-colored litter! We like to refer to the muted apricot/caramels as “champagne.” It’s not a color we get often but is always a fun treat. We’ll see if the puppies get frosted tips which occasionally happens with the solid coats. Would you believe that we have people waiting in line to assign litter theme names? This is a fun one for puppies who will be ready for homes Halloween weekend. I remember The Addams Family and The Munsters television shows from my youth; so having a young person bring them up for the theme was pretty fun. Also listed with each puppy is their birth weight. Ideally, puppies should double their weight in the first week - they did! Warning: Birth weights don’t necessarily depict adult size nor if certain puppies will be larger/smaller than their siblings. At seven weeks old, we have a better guesstimate for adult size. The first two weeks, puppies most definitely need their moms. Penny instinctually knows to nudge/lick/sniff each puppy when she enters the whelping box encouraging them to find the milk bar by sense of smell. You see, newborn puppies are blind, deaf, unable to walk (they tummy scoot), unable to control body temperature, and unable to defecate and pee on their own. Penny helps with all of this. She keeps her puppies close for warmth or will even nudge them over to the area of the whelping box where a heating pad has been positioned. She licks them to stimulate waste removal and keeps the entire area clean. Penny spends the vast majority of each 24-hour day close to her puppies while only taking breaks for eating, drinking, potty breaks, and quick “hello’s” for our family. The entire process is absolutely miraculous. However, Penny gets the credit for being an exceptional mother.
Happy Birthday!
Penny gave new meaning to the Labor Day holiday. Three hours after arriving at our home with her guardian family, she decided an early delivery was in order. Labor started Monday at 8:00 P.M., and the last of seven puppies (5 girls, 2 boys) arrived on Tuesday at 12:30 A.M. As with her first litter, Penny handled the entire process with such grace - a natural. This litter is the dream: born quickly with placentas, healthy, immediate & strong nursers, great variety-pack sizes, cool “champagne” coloring, and raised by a tender & experienced mama. The first week is all about caring for Mom’s needs and making sure puppies get on the milk bar for consistent daily weight gains. Penny barely takes potty/food/water breaks as any time away from the puppies is difficult for her right now. We absolutely adore Penny and these little ones! Stay tuned for the litter’s theme names;)
